Additional Optional Benefits with Serenia Life

Buying a Serenia Life Financial life insurance policy for you or your loved ones? Congratulations, you’re steps away from protecting your family’s financial future.

At the time of purchase, consider adding any or all of the following optional benefits to further customize your plan to suit your needs.

Personalize your plan

The Total Disability Waiver ensures that your life insurance protection remains intact if you become totally disabled for a period of at least 6 months and cannot earn any income.

*only available with a Whole Life policy

The Owner Waiver Premium Death and Disability Benefit is available if you are purchasing Whole Life insurance for your child. It ensures that your little one’s life insurance protection remains intact in the event of your death, or if you become totally disabled, for a period of at least 6 months, and cannot earn any income.

The Guaranteed Insurability Option provides you with the opportunity to purchase additional life insurance without undergoing a medical evaluation. Note that there are specific ages or life events on which you can apply for a new policy (e.g., if you get married or have a child). This benefit provides peace of mind knowing you can buy more insurance regardless of your future health status.

The Accidental Death Benefit provides your beneficiary with an additional death benefit if you were to die by accident.

The Child Term Benefit allows you to purchase a small amount of life insurance coverage for your children and future children – providing them with the start of a solid financial plan. This benefit can be converted between the ages of 18 and 25 to any product available at that time. Each child can convert up to 5 times the benefit amount without having to provide any medical evidence of insurability.

Support for your loved ones

A Serenia Life Financial policy comes with a counselling benefit for members in mourning – at no extra cost.

Bereavement Counselling Benefit

The Bereavement Counselling Benefit provides beneficiaries with a reimbursement of up to $1,000 when they access the support they need after the death of a loved one. This benefit is included in your plan at no additional cost, provided that:

  • the beneficiary(ies) submit the receipts within 12 months of the date of death, and
  • the counsellor is professionally accredited or certified.

The total amount paid through the Bereavement Counselling Benefit is $1,000, regardless of the number of beneficiaries.
