Serenia Life Financial members who are pursuing a full-time undergraduate or graduate degree, or a college diploma are welcome to apply for a one-time scholarship of $1,000. As long as the educational institution is accredited, it doesn’t matter if it’s located in or outside of Canada.
Whether you’re about to graduate from high school, are already enrolled in a full-time program, or are considering going back to school as a mature student, this benefit is open to you. (Note: Certificate programs are not eligible.)

How do I apply?
Volunteer.
You must have performed a minimum of 40 hours of community involvement in order to be considered. Looking for ways to volunteer? Apply to run an Action Team, and we’ll get you started with $150 in seed money.
Study hard.
A GPA of 2.8 (or 70%) in your final academic year of study is required. Official transcripts and proof or registration at your post-secondary institution must be submitted with your scholarship application. Mature students are asked to provide proof of registration.
Do some homework.
In addition to providing a recommendation form by someone familiar with your academic performance or community involvement, you’ll also need to a respond to an essay question in 500 words.
Submit your application.
Apply online with all of the required documentation before the deadline. Don’t worry, if you’re late this year, you can always re-apply next time.

The Post-Secondary Scholarship Benefit is a one-time payment of $1,000 to support a member pursuing post-secondary education.
This benefit provides financial support to members looking to gain more knowledge in their desired field and to set them up for future success.

Cheques will be issued in August and mailed to the mailing address provided. Cheques are made payable to the institution provided by the recipient on their Profile page, and are sent by Serenia Life Financial.
This is a one-time only benefit. Members can apply for this benefit during any year of their studies, as long as they apply by that year’s stated deadline. Serenia Life reserves the right to limit the number of scholarships awarded each year.

The eligibility requirements for this benefit include:
- applicant must be a member by December 31st of the year prior to applying and have an active policy when they receive the benefit
- member must accumulate 40 volunteer hours, submit a recognition letter from an academic contact (ex. teacher), maintain a GPA of 2.8 (70%), and respond to an essay question in 500 words
- benefit must be used towards a full-time university or college diploma (undergrad, graduate program, or diploma)
- certificate programs are not eligible
