Information on Canada Postal Worker Strike

Effective November 15th, 2024, Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) has announced it will commence a national strike during which time Canada Post operations will shutdown.  Serenia Life is committed to minimizing the disruption to our members and advisors.  The information below outlines the answers to some questions you may have.

During the Postal Strike, will Serenia Life be able to send or receive mail?

 During the postal strike, Serenia Life will not be able to send or receive mail. We encourage you to contact us via other communication channels

 

What other communication channels are available?

 

If I am local, can I hand deliver mail to your head office?

 Yes, our head office is located at 470 Weber St N, Waterloo, Ontario.  We are located on the 3rd (top) floor.   A drop box is available.  To access the dropbox, enter the front entrance, and proceed to the top floor.  The box is located at the top of the stairs.

 

I am expecting, or requesting a payment for a claim or other transaction, how will the funds be sent to me?

Wherever possible, we will be using Direct Deposit, therefore eliminating the need for a physical cheque delivery.  When submitting a claim form or other financial request, please ensure to include a void cheque to enable Direct Deposit.

 

My premium is coming due – how can I pay it?

We offer the option for monthly Pre-authorized billing where we can debit your account directly.  Alternatively, if you are paying on a quarterly, semi-annual, or annual basis, you may send your premium via online banking through your bank

To use Online Banking, ensure you select “Serenia Life” as the payee, and enter your complete policy number as the account number.  The policy number must include any leading zeroes as well as any alphanumeric characters.  Visit Online Payment Option for complete instructions.
